Job description

Hunter Gatherer AHP has two exciting locum opportunities based at an NHS hospital service in Essex (please enquire for exact locations). We are seeking several Locum ACT Band 4/5 Pharmacy Technicians (community experienced applicants are welcome) to join the inpatient dispensary team from June/July onwards, for ongoing contracts of 3-6 months. The ACT qualification is required for this role.

Note: Previous hospital experience is desirable but not mandatory; community pharmacy technicians are also encouraged to apply as training will be provided. Free on-site parking is available. This role offers excellent career progression, with training across various dispensary aspects depending on your skill set. Hospital-experienced applicants can start immediately, while others will be trained for inpatient wards and dispensary duties.

The main responsibilities include accuracy checking in the hospital dispensary and assisting with dispensing. There may also be opportunities to undertake some ward-based work, depending on your progress.

The working hours are either 8 am - 4 pm or 9 am - 5 pm (30-minute lunch break), Monday to Friday. No on-call or weekend work is required. Part-time options (3-4 days per week) may be considered for suitable applicants.

Applicants must have pharmacy experience from either community or hospital sectors and be qualified ACTs. Hospital experience is not essential, providing an opportunity for community pharmacy technicians to transition into hospital pharmacy.

The roles are available immediately (June/July 2024), with a contract length of up to 6 months, and are suitable for both full-time and part-time work.
