Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join St John's Hospice. The role involves leading a dedicated team, delivering high-quality, compassionate care, and supporting the Ward Manager in their absence.

You will model professional standards, promote excellence, and contribute to audits to improve practice while supporting holistic, palliative and end-of-life care for patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration.
• Experience leading a ward or team in an acute or hospices setting.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence and promote a positive ward culture.
• Demonstrate professional standards and supportive leadership in patient care.
• Support line management, staff development and day to day coordination of the team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join the team at St John's Hospice in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families while contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

• To promote a positive and supportive ward culture and deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence.
• To act as a visible role model, demonstrating professional standards, supportive leadership, and promoting excellence in patient care and staff development.

To support the line management, professional development and day-to-day coordination of a dedicated and compassionate team, promoting a positive culture and high standards of care.

To support the delivery of holistic, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care, acting as a positive role model for nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

To participate in ward audits enabling staff to identify any gaps in practice and work.
