Location: Market Overton, Rutland (LE15 7PL)

Salary: £27,242 – £28,254.31 per year (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch break)

About the Role

We’re seeking a Creative Enterprise Horticulture Coordinator to manage and develop our horticulture programme. You’ll oversee our gardens, greenhouses, and polytunnels, and lead a team that includes adults with learning disabilities, helping them gain valuable work skills while producing high-quality plants and produce for sale.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about horticulture, people development, and community-focused work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all horticulture activities and seasonal work across the site
  • Supervise and support the Horticulture Team Leader
  • Work alongside residents to grow plants and produce for sale
  • Lead a team of people with learning disabilities to maintain the Lodge Trust gardens and grounds
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Care Standards regulations
  • Manage budgets, stock, and materials
  • Support Lodge Trust events (e.g., Sales Days, Family Day)
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to the role
About You

Essential:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a professional horticulture environment
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Ability to support and motivate adults with learning disabilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to work in line with The Lodge Trust’s Christian ethos and values

Desirable:

  • Professional qualification in horticulture
  • Experience of working in a care or learning disability setting
  • Teaching, First Aid, or Health & Safety qualifications
  • Budget management experience
