Salary: GBP58,000 per annum + package

Job Summary: This role is for a contracts manager with a background in landscape and construction projects involving trees, who also excels at selling and estimating.

The company operates on a national basis from a dual depot/office facility in North London, falling under the East Region.

Founded in 1963, they pioneered the UK market in supplying and planting large mature trees, and made commercial tree moving a viable business through investment in bespoke machinery.

Job Description

This role is integral to the business development and sales functions, uniting the team. The objective is to ensure smooth business operations, secure new and existing client opportunities, and grow revenue while meeting profit and business plan targets.

The successful candidate will drive the sales team to meet targets, ensure accurate pricing and proposal compilation to win and retain clients. The role offers opportunities to develop new skills and contribute to company growth.

Reporting directly to the Regional Director East Region, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience in reviewing and estimating tenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the business reaches or exceeds financial targets.
  • Manage landscape construction projects involving trees, emphasizing estimating and sales, with strong arboricultural knowledge.
  • Maintain and improve health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans.
  • Explore new markets.
  • Oversee management of company assets.
  • Price tenders according to company policy.
  • Prepare professional tender submissions on time.
  • Present tender information to the Regional Director.
  • Generate new customer leads.
  • Quote works and follow up responses.
  • Prepare for tender interviews with high-quality presentations.
  • Identify tendering opportunities and secure long-term extensions.
  • Research and communicate with relevant staff for tender submissions.
  • Maintain knowledge of markets and competitors through research.
  • Keep tender and contract records up to date.
  • Assist in programming new jobs and other project-related tasks.
  • Prepare reports for the Regional Manager.
  • Perform other duties as required.
