A leading horticultural company in Lancashire is seeking a Horticultural Spray Operator to manage spraying operations and support overall farm management. The ideal candidate will hold necessary certifications and possess experience in horticulture. This is a permanent full-time position with a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 and additional benefits including an accommodation allowance and a discretionary bonus.

Do you hold your PA1, PA2, PA4 tickets - and know your way around horticultural or brassica crops?

Location of the Job:

North West of England - Lancashire.

Salary and Benefits Package:

  • Paying £35,000 - £40,000 salary per year, depending on experience.

  • Accommodation allowance to be discussed - if you need to relocate.

  • Discretionary bonus of up to 1.5 months' salary.

  • Company pension scheme.

About The Company:

Specialist horticultural / fresh produce growers in the North West of England.

The Job Role Details:

Reporting to the company Owner, as the Horticultural Spray Operator you will carry out fieldwork operations like groundwork, spraying, and weeding, and support the Owner in effective running of the horticultural operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you really want to grow within a company and eventually take on even more responsibilities within your role.

  • Carry out spraying operations on 200Ha of brassica production, including all documentation and record keeping for legal and customer requirements.

  • Groundwork, weeding operations, and management of other contractors.

  • Operate farm machinery and equipment.

  • Support other farm operations - harvesting and yard work.

  • PA1, PA2, PA4 tickets.

  • Experience working in a horticultural or brassica farm operation.

  • Experience operating machinery and equipment.

  • IT literate.

  • Willing to work seasonal hours when required.

  • Self-starter, able to work under your own initiative.

  • Good working knowledge of Assurance schemes, and Pesticide legislation.

  • Good commercial understanding of, and interest in field vegetables.
