Job summary

The Honours & Awards team within DCMS is seeking a senior policy lead to drive reform of the honours system. You will shape strategy, develop policy, and coordinate engagement with Ministers and senior officials across government.

You will oversee two workstreams: honours reform and the cross-government quinquennial review, and will collaborate with an HEO analyst to underpin evidence-based policy development.

Qualifications

• Lead strategic reform of the honours system across DCMS.
• Develop and implement policy to strengthen diversity and regional representation.
• Engage senior stakeholders including Ministers and Honours Committee Chairs.
• Collaborate with data teams to monitor impact of reforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead two major workstreams: reform the honours process and cross-government quinquennial review.
• Design policies and processes to improve quality and representation of nominations.
• Engage Ministers, Permanent Secretary, and senior officials to secure buy-in.
• Line-manage an HEO analyst providing data and demographic analysis.
