Job Description:

The Loss Foundation is a registered charity specializing in bereavement support for individuals whose loved ones died of cancer. The charity is run by volunteer psychologists and mental health professionals, as well as professionals from other fields.

The charity hosts online bereavement support groups and therapeutic events, and offers in-person support through informal gatherings and walks across the country.

Our team is expanding, and we are seeking compassionate, reliable, and conscientious volunteers with excellent communication skills and an interest in helping others.

Honorary psychologist roles involve co-facilitating bereavement support groups and events for those affected by cancer-related loss; receiving supervision from Clinical Psychologists; and engaging in ongoing CPD and training.

Ideal candidates will have excellent organizational skills, initiative, flexibility, warmth, and enthusiasm for learning about bereavement support. Volunteers will receive supervision from Clinical Psychologists, participate in professional development sessions, and have opportunities to contribute to research. The charity provides excellent training and CPD opportunities for those interested in psychology careers. We welcome applicants with a general interest in helping others.

We are committed to offering the best care to an often-overlooked population. We require a minimum commitment of 2 years, with volunteering at least 2-3 times a month in the evenings. More information about the charity is available at www.thelossfoundation.org.

Applications must include a cover letter and CV, sent to [emailprotected]. The closing date for applications is June 30th, but may close earlier if a high volume of candidates is received. Successful applicants will be invited for an interview with the charity team.
