The Loss Foundation is a registered charity specialising in providing bereavement support for people whose loved ones die of cancer. The charity is run by volunteer psychologists and professionals working in mental health, as well as those from other professions.

The charity hosts bereavement support groups and other therapeutic events online, and offers in-person support across the country in the form of informal get togethers / walks.

Our wonderful charity team is expanding and we are looking to take on more compassionate, reliable and conscientious volunteers with excellent communications skills and an interest in helping others.

Honorary psychologist roles involve co-facilitating bereavement support groups and events for people whose loved ones have died from cancer; having supervision from Clinical Psychologists, and having continuous CPD and training.

The successful candidates will have excellent organisational skills, initiative, flexibility, warmth, and enthusiasm for learning more about bereavement support. Volunteers will receive scheduled supervision from Clinical Psychologists, have continued professional development sessions, and have the opportunity to contribute to research. The charity offers excellent training and opportunities and CPD for people who are keen to pursue careers in psychology. We are also very open to welcoming applications from people with a general interest in helping others.

You can see a list of our current team here: https://thelossfoundation.org/meet-the-team/

We are passionate about offering the best possible care to an often-ignored population. We ask for at least a 2-year commitment, which involves facilitating at least 2-3 times a month (evening based). You can find out more about the charity at www.thelossfoundation.org

Applications will only be considered that provide a cover letter and a copy of your CV, which can be sent to [emailprotected] . The application process will close on the 30th June but may be closed earlier if we receive a high number of candidates . Successful candidates will be invited to an interview with some of the charity’s team.
