What is Peer-led Peer Support?

It's when people with shared experiences, like a health condition, meet one-on-one or in groups to listen, share ideas, and offer emotional support. Peer mentors, who have the same lived experience, lead these sessions.

Peer support can build connection, confidence, and practical skills to help each other to live well.

Main duties of the job

What's Involved?

  • Training: 6 half-day sessions (online or in-person) covering listening skills, confidentiality, boundaries, and basic health condition info. Also, Homerton specific training on policies and procedures.
  • Peer Mentor Volunteer time commitment: Around 4-8 hours a month, which is flexible to fit your schedule
  • Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins with the clinical host team
