Job summary

Harmeny Education Trust Limited in Balerno near Edinburgh currently seeks a Cook (Homemaker) to join our Catering and Domestic team on a part-time basis. The role covers preparing nutritious meals and some domestic duties to maintain a homely environment for children aged 5–18.

The post is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11am–6pm, with potential for additional shifts. PVG disclosure will be required.

Qualifications

• Elementary food hygiene certificate or higher required.
• Desirable: qualification in cooking or food preparation; training may be provided.
• Ability to produce nutritious meals for children.
• Willingness to undertake some domestic duties and maintain cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, nutritious lunches and evening meals for children.
• Undertake domestic duties and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Work 32.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 11:00–18:00; potential overtime.
• Support a homely environment within the residential cottage.
