Role Overview
We are looking for a Homelessness Support Worker to join our adult-focused 21-bed service in Haringey. You will work as part of a team to deliver an assessment, support and move-on service to our adult clients within supported accommodation.
As Homelessness Support Worker, you will manage a caseload of complex needs clients and share responsibility for the safety and well-being of all clients and staff in the service. In addition, you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the clients to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients in the service, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures.
- Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service.
- Work in partnership with multiple agencies, including statutory mental and physical health teams, substance misuse services, probation and DWP, to support the wellbeing of the residents, in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols.
- You will involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in Depaul’s wider community program of activities and client involvement opportunities.
- Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations.

What We Are Looking For – Person Specification
- Experience of working with clients with mental health and substance misuse support needs.
- Ability to work with clients whose behaviour may be personally challenging.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients.
- Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers, drug/alcohol support services and mental health professionals.
- A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
