Homelessness Prevention Triage Officer

Duration: 6 Months

Hourly Rate: £28.75 Umbrella per hour

Hours: Mon – Fri 9am-5.15pm – 2 Days from home

Based: Hertfordshire

A position has arisen in a Local Government for a Homelessness Prevention Triage Officer to provide a high quality first point of contact and triage services for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, providing appropriate advice, assistance and information.

Daily duties:

  • Manage new housing advice enquiries via phone, email, and case management systems, providing expert guidance and signposting as needed
  • Conduct rapid assessments to determine eligibility, homelessness risk, local connection, and priority need, gathering necessary documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external organizations to assess housing and support needs, ensuring informed decision-making
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and training to ensure compliance with statutory homelessness obligations.
  • Safeguard vulnerable individuals by identifying risks and making appropriate referrals
