Pay rate £25.96 per hour
Contract role, Housing

Pertemps is recruiting an experienced Homelessness Prevention Officer in South London. Candidates should have experience in a similar role within a Local Authority.

  • The purpose of this position is to provide a customer-focused service to meet the housing needs of customers threatened with homelessness or who are homeless.
  • The role involves interviewing customers face-to-face to provide housing advice, assistance, and support to prevent homelessness where possible.
  • The position is responsible for maintaining Personalized Housing Plans during customer interviews or communications via phone or electronic modes.
  • The officer will assess housing needs and provide suitable housing solutions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers with housing needs, adopting the council’s fairer future principles and a win-win approach.
  • This role is vital for providing services to vulnerable customers under legislation such as the Children’s Act, the Care Act, and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
