Job summary

A charity organization in Chesterfield is seeking a Homeless Team Leader for their Young Persons Service. The role involves managing a caseload of clients in temporary accommodations and supervising a team to provide support in securing housing and handling finances. Ideal candidates will have experience in supported housing and team leadership. A flexible schedule and a recent DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of working within supported housing / homelessness - Young Persons Service ideally.
• Experience in a senior / team leader role.
• Able to work flexibly over 8am-8pm during the week, with weekends when needed.
• A valid DBS (child and adult) cleared issued within 12 months or on the update service.

Responsibilities

• Managing a small caseload of clients living in temporary accommodation.
• Undertake supervisions for all staff members, keeping track of targets/KPIs and performance.
• Work with the housing services manager to support tenants to pay rent and service charges.
• Promote independence of the tenants living in temporary accommodation.
• Maintain health and safety procedures on site.
• Create staff rota and manage sickness and absences when required.

The organisation

In this Homeless Team Leader opportunity in Chesterfield, you will join a charity helping vulnerable young people. You will gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless. The role is to help customers manage their own money to maintain their tenancy long term, whilst also being responsible for leading and developing a team of front line workers.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a small caseload of clients living in temporary accommodation, assisting them with housing support and applying for benefits; caseload will consist of complex needs
• Undertake supervisions for all staff members, keeping track of targets/KPIs and performance
• Work with the housing services manager to support tenants to pay rent and service charges, including advice on their finances
• Promote independence of the tenants living in the temporary accommodation
• Maintain health and safety procedures on site, ensuring all customers and staff are safe and free from harm
• Create staff rota and manage sickness and absences when required, keeping up-to-date site records
