Job summary

YMCA Brunel Group in Bath is recruiting a Homeless Support Worker to join our dedicated team. You will help residents identify and meet personal, social, health, learning and employment needs, while following safeguarding procedures.

Working with Bath & North East Somerset Council housing options, you will support speedy referrals, maintain up-to-date confidential case records, and assist residents to understand occupancy conditions to sustain their accommodation.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents receive high quality of support, working as part of a team to help people identify and meet their personal, social, health, learning and employment needs, as identified in their support needs assessment, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
• To work closely with Bath & North East Somerset Council housing options team to ensure that all referrals can move on as quickly as possible.
• To maintain up to date accurate and confidential case records, documenting events as they happen, ensuring records are clear, complete and legible.
• Provide advise and assistance to residents to understand and comply with conditions of their occupancy agreement to enable them to sustain their accommodation.

• Homeless Support: Each year, we provide housing related support to those who the local authority have accepted a homeless duty for and placed in the YMCA under temporary accommodation.
• Health & Wellbeing: Our vibrant centre in Bath offers a fully equipped gym, fitness areas, and a wide variety of classes.
• Youth Clubs & Nurseries: With 12 youth clubs and 8 Ofsted-registered nurseries, we help children and young people grow, develop, and prepare for their future.

The Role: Homeless Support Worker

As an integral member of our support team in Bath, you will:

Location: Bath, Somerset

Hours:37.5 hours/week (May include evening and weekend work)

Rate of Pay: £27.183.00 per year
