Homeless Prevention - Project Worker

£27,281.11 per annum (pay award pending)

Scheme based - The Spires, Maudland Bank in Preston

What will you be doing in this role?

This role is based at The Spires, a 26-bed, move-on scheme which provides temporary accommodation for individuals who have experienced rough sleeping or are at risk of rough sleeping. The scheme provides high-quality support services and accommodation to residents who face multiple disadvantage. You will support a small case load of tenants using a person-centred, strengths-based approach that promotes independence, responsibility, and personal wellbeing. You will work with our tenants to develop personalised safety and move on plans, and you will build relationships with them by spending quality time helping them to develop community connections. This role will require regular evening and weekend work on a rota basis.

What we are looking for:

  • Have worked with people facing, or personally experienced, multiple disadvantage and/or homelessness.
  • Previous experience of providing Intensive Housing Management or housing related support.
  • Good understanding of the issues faced by people who are experiencing multiple disadvantage and the ability to support them without judgement.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.
  • Good communication skills - both verbal and written - to work with residents, colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.

It would be a bonus if you also had:

  • A relevant qualification in housing or health and social care.
  • Understanding or experience of working with partner agencies such as drug and alcohol services, social services, or services for people experiencing mental ill health.
  • Experience of completing risk assessments and support plans.
