Homeless Prevention Officer

  • Annual Pay: £18.43 PAYE or £23.44 via umbrella
  • Location: Ashton under Lyne, Tameside
  • Job Type: Hybrid (2 days in the office, flexible with more casework)
  • Contract: Interim/Contract

Join our dedicated client, Tameside Housing Advice, responsible for the Council’s statutory homelessness and housing needs service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals by preventing and relieving homelessness.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage directly in the prevention and relief of homelessness.
  • Triage contacts through the online portal and manage legacy cases among other housing and homelessness-related activities.
  • Participate in a duty rota to provide face-to-face services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, which may include office visits, home visits, or other locations across the area.
  • Work collaboratively with customers and a range of partners to secure suitable housing solutions.
  • Handle cases involving homeless prevention, housing advice, Temporary Accommodation, and administration of the Council’s Housing Register.
