Job summary

A housing advisory service is looking for an experienced Housing Advice/Prevention/Homelessness Assessment Officer. This role involves managing a varied caseload, conducting homelessness enquiries, and delivering prevention and relief interventions. Ideal candidates should have knowledge of relevant housing legislation and experience in similar services. Flexible working arrangements are provided, with office hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • Experience with drafting s184 decision letters.

Overview

An experienced Housing Advice/ Prevention/ Homelessness Assessment Officer who can hit the ground running.

Candidate will be expected to be part of the Housing Options duty Service, completing assessment, and carrying out respective prevention/ relief work, and managing a varied caseload. Knowledge of Part VII Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act and other relevant legislation and statute is required, along with experience of carrying out homelessness enquiries, casework and drafting s184 decision letters.

Work Arrangements

Hillingdon offers flexible working arrangements.

Candidate should expect to be office based 50% of the time once they have completed an office-based induction period, which normally takes two to four weeks depending on level of competency. Office hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm.
