Job Title: Homeless / Ex Offender Support Worker

Location: Birmingham, B29 7JS

Salary: £11.12 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full Time - 35 hours

Shift Patterns: Early (07:30 - 14:30), Mid (08:30 - 17:00), Afternoon/Evening (15:00 - 23:00), Sleep-in (23:00 - 07:30)

Additional Sleep-in allowance: £88.57 per sleep-in (required 6/7 times per month)

About The Service

GreenSquareAccord has delivered offender-based services for over 60 years in the West Midlands and is recognized as the leading organization supporting and housing offenders in Birmingham. You will join an experienced team as part of the Birmingham Scheme, maintaining strong relationships with West Midlands Police and Probation Service to provide effective tenancy-related support to those involved in the criminal justice system.

In Your New Role, You Will
  • Support tenants in our Selly Park accommodation project, offering tenancy-related assistance to homeless ex-offenders, with opportunities to work in the community.
  • Provide person-centered support to help clients resettle into the community, leading to improved life choices, reduced offending, and safer communities.
  • Complete essential support tasks while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Participate in a 4-week rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays, with an average of 6/7 sleep-ins per month, paid additionally at £88.57 each.
  • Follow security policies to ensure staff safety during shifts.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience and knowledge of the needs of ex-offenders and vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to work confidently both in a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record-keeping.
  • Full driving license and access to a car are essential.
  • Willingness to work on a rolling rota including weekends and bank holidays, with sleep-in payments.
