Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

Job Purpose:

To work with service users with learning disabilities to enable them to fulfil their person centred plans, promoting positive outcomes and maximise independence.

Job Context:

The Community Living Service is a 24 hour/ 365 day residential service in ordinary houses for adults with profound learning disabilities. The service caters to a range of needs, including challenging behaviour, communication difficulties, and brain injuries. Some service users require substantial help with personal care and supervision considering risk factors.

The service is regulated by the Domiciliary Care Agencies (Wales) Regulations 2004 and the National Minimum Standards. All workers must register as Social Care Workers with the Care Council for Wales.

The service operates in ordinary houses with 1 or more service users, cared for by a small staff group. Staffing levels depend on the needs and activities of the service users.

This is a 148-hour contract over 4 weeks, with working hours according to the rota, including evenings, nights, and weekends. Work during unsociable hours will attract enhancements according to the local agreement.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References covering the last 5 years of employment.
