Job description

This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated, qualified Midwife who wants to take responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of midwifery care for women and their families. Working on a shift-by-shift basis, you'll look after the coordination and effective management of the clinical team and guarantee the maintenance of high standards of quality care in the clinical area. As part of a specialist Homebirth Team, you'll participate in the on-call rota for Homebirths and ensure there is effective and sensitive communication between the women in your care, their babies and families, and the health professionals you work with. The on-call commitment will be an average of 2 on calls a week. Come and join the new Saint Mary's Specialist Community Homebirth Team, dedicated to providing a homebirth service for the families across Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will be part of a team of 8 midwives.
  • You will provide continuity of care to any woman booking for a homebirth across the North, Central & South Manchester areas.
  • Your role will include case loading an additional 1 clinic per week for women in deprived areas across the MCS, helping to support positive health outcomes.
  • It is expected you will have 2 on calls per week (one 1st and one 2nd).

Dedicated to providing an environment that encourages patient-centred involvement, you'll promote good working relationships with all the internal and external departments you work with, with the ultimate aim of providing the best patient journey possible.
