Job summary

Specsavers is seeking a Home Visits Optical Assistant to bring eye care directly to patients at their homes. You will dispense lenses and deliver clinical care in community settings, supporting patients who cannot attend stores.

You'll work across a regional area, with training and benefits, including a generous package and pension contributions. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to dispense at all levels.

Qualifications

Current or recent optical experience (6 months–1 year) and ability to dispense at all levels.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Drive our services to the doorsteps and provide eye care to patients who cannot visit stores.

Are you ready to take your skills on the road? As a Home Visits Optical Assistant at Specsavers, you can do just that.

If you love your job but are a bit bored, if you love working with patients but want a new challenge, then this role might be for you.

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care into the heart of your community.

The job is varied: you’ll work in a range of locations and testing environments every day – no two days are the same. Our region stretches from Romford across to Colchester and from Bishop's Stortford down to Southend-on-Sea, but our ever-expanding team is scattered across the region so we will always aim to keep you as close to home as possible, although there may be times you will have to cover anywhere within the region.

We can only consider candidates who hold a full UK driving licence and can confidently dispense lenses at all levels.

Salary: up to £29,000 per annum DOE (combined package of up to £35,000 per annum)
Car allowance of £3,000 per annum
Bonus based on performance; average between £2,000 and £3,000 per annum
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm (Flexibility required)

What we’re looking for?
