Overview

TeacherActive are one of the biggest SEND recruitment agencies and are currently seeking a Home Tutor to support the learning and development of children and young people with special needs. They are working in partnership with Local Authorities to provide a high standard of education for students aged 6 to 18 with MLD, ASD, and ADHD needs.

They are looking for a positive, enthusiastic Home Tutor to start immediately with a focus on Maths, English, and Science/primary curriculum. The hours are flexible, part time or full time. As an SEND Tutor you will work with students who have MLD, ASD, and ADHD needs, in their home or public settings. The successful tutor will be confident and adaptable in working KS1 to KS5, helping students meet their goals with 1:1 support.

Responsibilities

The successful Home Tutor will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group academic support in core subjects (Maths, English, Science) and the primary curriculum.
  • Support learning and development for students with MLD, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Be flexible in placement settings (home or public settings) and adapt to KS1–KS5 needs.
Qualifications
  • QTS or ECTs are welcome to apply.
  • Experience working with MLD, ASD, and ADHD.
  • A calm, patient, and caring personality.
  • Good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Experience supporting students in education on a 1:1 or small group basis.
