About the role

Bridgend County Care & Repair supports older people to repair, adapt and maintain their homes to enable them to live as independently as possible with increased safety, security, warmth and comfort.

We are currently seeking:

Home Safety Officers (Handyperson) Team Leader

  • 37 hours per week
  • Salary of £32,718 per annum
  • Company Vehicle
  • Pension
  • Permanent contract

In summary, the role will:

  • Provide support to the Agency’s Small Projects and Hospital to Home schemes to ensure an effective and efficient service to meet the housing needs of older people in the community.
  • Assist in the effective delivery of the range of fast-track services operated by the Agency in partnership with the Local Authority, Cwm Taf Health Board and the Welsh Government.
  • Ensure Home Safety Officers are fully compliant with all applicable policies & procedures as outlined in the HSO manual to ensure good practice in service delivery across a range of activities
  • Undertake spot checks to assess Home Safety Officers on site performance to ensure high standards of customer care and quality of building work is maintained
  • Carry out technical audits on a quarterly basis to ensure the quality of work undertaken by Home Safety Officers and external contractors has been carried out to a good standard of workmanship
  • Assess and price individual jobs utilising the Agency’s Schedule of Rates
