Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

This is a 9-month fixed-term/secondment opportunity. Please obtain line management approval before applying for secondments.

We are seeking an innovative and experienced occupational therapist to join the Home First Response Service, which operates on a hub and spoke model with teams at the acute site and in the community. This fixed-term role at the Royal Alexandra Hospital involves working alongside the wider MDT to assess and care for people living with frailty. The acute community in-reach team will collaborate closely with community teams to support safe discharges and proactively enable people to live at home, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions. Hours are flexible between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week. The initial working pattern will be core hours over 3 days per week, with potential extension as the service develops.

Referrals will come from front door areas to facilitate quick and safe discharges, aiming to keep people at home through the provision of extra care.

This post offers a unique opportunity to be part of a new approach to care delivery.
