Shift hours

Online delivery driver shifts can range from starting at 6am in the morning to starting at 3pm in the afternoon.

Love food and life on the road? Then you’ll have a great time behind the wheel as one of our Online Drivers, delivering groceries and providing cheerful, friendly service to our online customers.

As an Online Driver, your focus will be on delivering customers’ shopping on time and in excellent condition, offering a brilliant service. This includes greeting customers with a smile, professionally handling queries, and informing them of any delays. The role is hands-on and makes you the face of Sainsbury’s, so pride in doing the right thing for customers is essential. You should be comfortable lifting and moving online containers of up to 15kg. When not on the road, you may assist in-store.

You will be fully licensed to drive, and we will provide additional coaching to operate our delivery vehicles. To qualify, you must be over 18, have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months, and have no more than 6 points. You will complete an online driving risk assessment during your interview, and if successful, undertake a driving assessment upon joining.
