Job Opportunity: Care Assistant in Fife

Based in the Dunfermline Area, working various hours per week (4 days on 4 days off rotation), on a permanent, part-time basis, with a salary grade of £23,633.23 - £25,829.49 pro-rata.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic individuals to join our care at home teams in the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership Localities.

We are looking for motivated and driven individuals with good values and a genuine interest in the care and support of service users in the local communities. You will be a people person passionate about supporting our service users to maximize their independence and remain living in their own homes. Each day, you will have a sense of achievement knowing you have made a difference to those you support.

  • Enhancements for unsocial hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • As this role involves attending service user homes, you must be able to travel across the wider Fife area. A vehicle may be provided, but if you use your own vehicle, travel expenses will be paid at 45p per mile.

The Person

  • Caring, compassionate, motivated, with good values and a genuine interest in providing quality care and support to service users.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with service users and their families.
  • Ability to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards, with the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Hold or be able to work towards SVQ 2 as required by the Scottish Social Services Council within the set timeframes. Once qualified, it is your responsibility to inform the SSSC promptly.
  • You are required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of employment and complete the Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) during the first registration period. It is your responsibility to notify the SSSC of any changes to your personal or work details promptly.

Before confirming your appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful candidate will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed, you must submit your registration application within 3 months to ensure registration within six months. More details are available in the role profile.
