Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Social Care Officer to join the Home Assessment Recovery Team (HART D2A). You will visit and support people in their own homes across the South, Perth and North localities, following a planned rota and shift pattern including early mornings, evenings and some overnight work.

You will promote reablement, assist with personal care and daily tasks while maintaining dignity and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality.
• The ability to work co-operatively with other professionals, families and carers.
• Understanding of the SSSC Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Following a schedule/rota of planned visits.
• Supporting individuals with personal care tasks to enable independence.
• Protecting individuals from risk or abuse and reporting concerns to line manager.
• Ensuring health and safety for yourself and individuals in line with PKC policies and procedures.
• Participating in risk assessments and maintaining accurate records.
