Job Description

We are seeking reliable, kind and caring people to join our evening & weekend Home Care Assistant team.

This is a part time position, but you will have the same, regular hours each week.

We are advertising an evening shift of 16:45 – 21:30. The role is for 3 or 4 weekdays plus every other weekend. We also have hours at varied times of day available on the weekends, not just evening hours. So please get in touch and see if we have something to suit you!

As a Care Professional with Home Instead, you will be visiting Clients in their own homes to help them with all elements of their tea time/evening/bed time routines, and provide meaningful companionship at the same time. This may also involve providing personal care assistance.

We offer:

  • Pay rate of £13.40 (before 6pm on weekdays) - £15.20 (after 6pm and all day on weekends) per hour.
  • Double pay on Bank Holidays.
  • Paid travel time plus paid mileage.
  • A range of guaranteed hours contracts available e.g.: 12, 16, 30 hours p/week. Or zero-hours to suit your availability.
  • Your pay, whenever you need it - take a portion of your pay early, no need to wait until payday.
  • Paid holiday, even on a zero-hour contract.
  • Paid training and shadowing.
  • Regular working pattern with the same Clients.
  • 24/7 on call support and a friendly and supportive office team.
  • Regular team meetings, training updates and support visits.
  • Free qualifications such as NVQ diplomas and Level 2 certificates in a variety of topics PLUS fully funded City & Guilds qualification in Dementia.
  • Free polo shirt, satchel and PPE.
  • Free access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Staff appreciation schemes and social events.
  • Access to our Home Instead benefits.
  • Refer a friend bonus scheme and company pension.

This is a fantastic, rewarding role and you will really be making a difference to someone's life.

Qualifications

No previous home care assistant experience is needed, just your natural caring qualities. We will support you with full training, shadow shifts and introductions to all your new clients.

Having a full, UK driver's licence and your own car is essential due to some home care assistant tasks that may be involved and being able to travel to client's homes within a 15 minute window.

We provide free ongoing learning and development opportunities such as the Care Certificate, Health and Social Care diplomas and an extensive range of distance learning courses.

Additional Information

We encourage applications from all sections of the community as we want to reflect the neighbourhoods in which we work. Home Instead is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. The home care assistant role is subject to DBS enhanced disclosure.

This role is UK based and the right to work in the UK will need to be established as part of the home care assistant recruitment process.
