Job description

Abbots Care are currently recruiting compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to support one of our clients living in Wimborne.

Our client is 71 with Huntington’s disease and has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer. She requires support with personal care, all daily living activities, and social activities as she is a wheelchair user due to her physical disability.

We are looking for individuals to assist our client daily between the hours of 9am-6pm. The shifts include weekdays and alternate weekends.

The support includes:

  1. Personal care and showering each day using a hoist.
  2. Assistance with food preparation and mealtimes.
  3. Day-to-day living tasks such as domestic chores.
  4. Ensuring her safety at all times.
  5. Being a companion and supporting hobbies and interests such as swimming and hydrotherapy.

Experience in the care sector is advantageous but not essential; a genuine interest and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives are crucial. We provide extensive training, including the Care Certificate and complex care training.

The ideal candidate must have a driving license and access to their own vehicle.

We offer both 0-hour contracts and full-time contracts of up to 40 hours per week, with hourly rates of £12.82. Both contract types require working alternate weekends.
