Job summary

SPT Labtech is seeking a Field Applications Scientist for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, ideally near Cambridge, London or Oxford. You'll support UK/Europe with expert knowledge of liquid handling products and applications across multiple workflows.

The role requires strong presentation skills, training capability and the ability to work independently or in a team, while travelling extensively to client sites and conferences.

Qualifications

• MSc with 5+ years or PhD with 2+ years in biological sciences or lab automation.
• Strong knowledge of liquid handling and automation.
• Experience in genomics or related fields is desirable.
• Willing to travel up to 75% and UK work rights.
• Excellent communication and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Organise on-site instrument demonstrations and remote software demos.
• Deliver pre-sales technical presentations with Territory Managers.
• Provide ongoing expert support across the UK and Europe.
• Deliver applications-based training and remote/in-person support.
• Develop and optimise protocols to improve customer workflows.
• Maintain Salesforce records and contribute to conferences and marketing content.
• Mentor Associate FAS colleagues as needed.
