Job summary

MEL Environmental Solutions Ltd are seeking a Consultant to join our Environmental Claims Division on a home-based basis within the UK. You will apply your field sampling, data interpretation and reporting skills to support domestic environmental claims.

The role requires a solid knowledge base in environmental services, a full UK driving licence, and strong communication skills. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within our expanding environmental team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in environmental services or transferable skills.
• Degree/HND in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Construction, Building/Engineering preferred but not essential.
• Full, clean UK driving licence is a prerequisite.
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
• Confident in interacting with clients/policy holders.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience using CAD or similar is beneficial.
• Home-based role with company vehicle/allowance.
• 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays; death in service cover.
• Enhanced company sick pay after qualifying period; additional training provided.
• Relocation allowance considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• On site surveys of domestic properties including sampling of vapour, soil and groundwater.
• Compilation and interpretation of field and analytical data.
• Preparation of reports, tables, and figures for reports.
• Scoping of remedial works and preparation of costs for the scoped works.
• Planning and scheduling of labour, plant and materials.
• Supervision of staff/subcontractors in investigations/remedial works.
• Engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
