Surrey Independent Living Charity is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist Sonny Beau, a 5-year-old with complex medical needs, during school holidays. The role is based in the family home and requires a calm, confident, child-centred approach to daily care and activities.

Pay is £15 per hour for 10 hours per week (13 weeks per year) with flexible shifts (3h, 3h, 4h) across holiday periods, including suctioning and monitoring Sonny’s wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Confident with oral and tracheal suctioning.
• Experience supporting a child with complex medical needs.
• Calm, patient and confident approach.
• Reliable with a genuine enjoyment of working with children.

Responsabilités

• Providing attentive, child-centred care in the home.
• Playing and engaging with Sonny in age-appropriate activities.
• Carrying out suctioning, both orally and via tracheostomy.
• Monitoring Sonny’s comfort and wellbeing at all times.
