Job summary

Holcim UK LIMITED is offering an Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying. You will earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in budgeting, cost management and commercial planning on live projects.

The programme runs for 3 Years 6 Months with 37.5 hours per week, starting dates and a nationally recognised qualification through Sheffield Hallam University. Five positions are available across the UK.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in construction quantity surveying with a level 4 qualification.
• Training with Sheffield Hallam University as part of the apprenticeship.
• Regular training included during the apprenticeship (at least 20% training time).

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, forecasts and financial reports.
• Help review contracts, supplier agreements and project documentation.
• Analyse financial data to identify costs, risks and opportunities for savings.
• Attend project meetings and work with commercial and operational teams.

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands‑on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

• Work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers on live construction projects
• Assist with monitoring project costs, budgets and financial performance
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, forecasts and financial reports
• Help review contracts, supplier agreements and project documentation
• Analyse financial data to identify costs, risks and opportunities for savings
• Assist with managing subcontractor and supplier costs
• Attend project meetings and work with commercial and operational teams
• Develop an understanding of contract management, negotiation and commercial plannin
• Gain hands‑on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
