Overview

Head of Department - Computer Science & Business Studies. Location: Bury. Contract: Permanent, Full Time. Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by agreement). Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (depending on experience).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the Computer Science and Business Studies department.
• Lead and support a team of teachers to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
• Design and deliver a robust, modern, and inspiring curriculum that prepares students for the digital and business world.
• Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, inform planning, and drive improvement.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment for students and staff.
• Contribute to the wider school leadership team and whole-school improvement priorities.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong subject background in Computer Science, Business Studies, or both.
• Proven track record of delivering strong academic outcomes at secondary level.
