Job summary

RAFAKidz Nursery at RAF Honington in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Part Time Chef with a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification. The post offers 15 hours per week at £13.80 per hour, working within RAFAKidz, the RAF Association’s nursery group.

The successful candidate will plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for children, manage kitchen stock and maintain high hygiene standards in line with Environmental Health guidance. DBS required on appointment and every three years.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in food hygiene.
• Experience planning, preparing and serving nutritious meals for children.
• Knowledge of Environmental Health requirements and food standards.

Responsibilities

About you

As our Chef, you will have lots of stamina, patience, creativity and imagination with an abundance of great ideas to enhance mealtimes. The key responsibilities of the role include the planning, preparation and serving of age appropriate, nutritious and well-balanced meals and snacks catering for the children’s individual dietary requirements and food allergies. You will be responsible for the ordering, control, storage and rotation of kitchen stock and ensuring that you and Kitchen Assistants ensure hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation. A minimum Level 3 qualification in food hygiene is an essential requirement along with excellent knowledge of current legislations in Environmental Health and Food Standards Agency
