Job summary

Royal Greenwich invites applications for three HMO Anti-Social Behaviour Officers (PO1) to help make homes safer in Woolwich and across The Woolwich Centre. These 18‑month fixed‑term posts focus on inspecting HMOs, addressing noise, waste and licensing compliance, and supporting residents and landlords.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, environmental health, law enforcement or a similar field.
• Knowledge of HMO licensing, housing standards, waste, pests or anti-social behaviour would be helpful.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work; enforcement qualification or regulatory experience is needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect HMOs and respond to reports from residents.
• Gather facts, assess each case and agree clear steps to put things right.
• Work with landlords and managing agents to meet licensing rules and advise on compliance.
• Prepare notices, penalties and case files for court or tribunal.
• Support collaboration with Police and other partners as needed.
