Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their potential?
Danebury School is looking for three enthusiastic and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our team, specialising in English, Maths or Science.
At Danebury, we have built a vibrant and compassionate culture where pupils are supported and empowered to achieve their personal best. Our values of Empowerment, Kindness, Excellence and Resilience are at the heart of our school community.
Working closely with subject leaders, teachers and the Inclusion Team, you will help provide high-quality, adaptive learning experiences for all students, including those with SEND, SEMH and EHCPs. You will work both within mainstream classrooms and Danebury's Flexible Learning Pathway Centre, which includes the school's newly opened SEMH resource provision.
This is a varied and rewarding opportunity where you will:
You'll play an important part in supporting students working towards GCSE and Key Stage 4 Functional Skills qualifications, helping to make learning accessible, engaging and appropriately adapted.
You'll help students strengthen literacy, reading fluency, spelling, vocabulary and written communication, as well as supporting Key Stage 4 Functional Skills English. You'll also support students with dyslexia and dyslexic traits in liaison with the SEND Manager.
You'll support numeracy and mathematical problem-solving, build students' confidence and resilience and contribute to Key Stage 4 Functional Skills Maths, including practical numeracy and financial literacy. You'll also support students with dyscalculia and associated traits alongside the Inclusion Team.
You'll help students develop scientific enquiry, investigation and analytical thinking skills across Key Stages 3 and 4. You'll lead targeted interventions, including pre-teaching and consolidation, and help make Science engaging through practical, vocational and real-world applications.
We're looking for someone who can build positive relationships with young people and work confidently both independently and within a team.
HLTA status or equivalent experience would be desirable, as would experience working within an English, Maths or Science department and delivering interventions or leading learning activities.
You'll become part of a supportive and inclusive culture, with opportunities for professional development across Danebury School and HISP Multi Academy Trust. You'll work alongside skilled teachers and inclusion professionals while having the opportunity to make a significant difference to young people's lives.
Danebury's wider school environment reflects the same nurturing ethos, with the school describing itself as a place where pupils feel safe, supported and empowered to achieve their personal best.
