Location: Crawley
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Must Drive: Yes (due to location)

Academics is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH school in Crawley. This role is a great opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in a structured and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead small group sessions and provide targeted learning support
  2. Assist in planning and delivering lessons alongside teachers
  3. Support students' emotional well-being, behaviour, and engagement
  4. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  5. Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists
Requirements
  1. HLTA qualification or significant TA experience with progression
  2. Experience working with SEMH or SEN students
  3. Confident leading small groups and supporting learning
  4. A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  5. Full UK driving licence (school is not easily accessible by public transport)
  6. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
