A fantastic Specialist School in Oxford is looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their friendly team either immediately or in September. The school caters for students with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, and Down syndrome. They are therefore looking for a HLTA with a passion for SEN and a warm nature!
As a HLTA, your daily duties will include guiding the students and ensuring they are all supported in the classroom. You will learn about their individual needs and adapt your approach in the classroom to suit them. You will also take on extra responsibilities, including covering lessons and collaborating with the SENCO to implement appropriate individual education plans (IEPs) for students. This Specialist School has excellent sensory provisions for the pupils and also emphasizes building independent living skills!
Previous experience working as a TA is necessary. This can be in a Specialist, Primary, or Secondary School. A relevant degree or qualification would be beneficial; however, passion and enthusiasm are the most important! The school day is from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
