Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract Type: Long-term supply with potential for permanent placement in September 2025
Pay Range: 120 to 140 per day
Location: Romford, Essex

Are you a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ready to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant primary school environment? Our friendly and inclusive primary school in Romford is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join our team, covering classes across Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to support and inspire young learners, contributing to their early education journey in a welcoming and nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Cover: Provide high-quality classroom cover across Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering engaging lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support Learning: Assist in planning and delivering lessons aligned with the curriculum to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Individual and Group Support: Work with small groups and individual pupils, adapting your approach to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, promoting good behaviour and engagement.
  • Collaborative Working: Liaise with teachers and other staff to support the holistic development of all children.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with marking, record-keeping, and preparation of resources as needed.

  • Qualifications: HLTA qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience working as an HLTA in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
