Job Description
We are a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dagenham looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our committed team from September 2025. This is a full-time position during term time only.

The successful candidate will provide whole class cover across Reception to Year 6, delivering high-quality teaching in the absence of class teachers or for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) release time. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and well-resourced school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes across the primary phase (Reception - Year 6)

  • Support teaching and learning in line with school policies

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Contribute to planning, assessment, and classroom organisation when required

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (required)

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a primary school setting

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (essential)

  • Confident in leading learning across the full primary age range

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children
