Contract Type: Long term. permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspirational and talented HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), at a Westminster Primary School - a nursery and primary school that takes pride in being a happy, friendly, welcoming and inclusive school providing education for children in Nursery from the age of 3, and Reception to Year 6. Our focus is firmly set on children and their outcomes and maximising every possibility that exists for them to succeed.

We build successful, collaborative relationships with parents, the local community of our Primary School and other schools in Academy to ensure that children:

  • are able to achieve their full potential personally, academically and socially.
  • develop and grow as independent, resourceful and resilient individuals.
  • are equipped with the skills, qualifications and love of learning they will need to be successful in the world they will join as adults.

As HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), the successful candidate will be responsible for the standards and progress of all the pupils at our Primary School.

As HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), the post holder will:

provide our children and families with the tools to empower them to access the excellent educational opportunities

have ambition and drive to excel our school on its journey to outstanding.

have the skills to raise aspiration and achievement for our pupils

have a sense of humour and the ability to be able to multi-task with energy and enthusiasm.

The HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) will have:

Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience.

Excellent Numeracy/Literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.

Training in relevant learning strategies e.g., literacy.

A proven ability to work in a team and on your own initiative.

A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.

The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.

A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
