Randstad Education seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a Cranleigh campus, focusing on supporting students with diverse needs and leading lessons. You will collaborate on lesson planning and create engaging resources, while providing short-term cover for teachers.

Ideally HLTA qualified or willing to train; strong communication, organisational skills and behaviour management are essential. A semi-rural location requires own transport; DBS checks will be completed.

Qualifications

• Be qualified with HLTA status or willing to train.
• Ability to interpret information for students with varied ability.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and organisational ability.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills in solo or team settings.
• Enthusiastic, committed and empathetic towards learning.
• Own transport due to semi-rural location.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons and support individuals or groups, with short-term cover as needed.
• Collaborate on lesson planning and create engaging learning resources.
• Promote development by managing behaviour and building independence.
• Track student progress and communicate with parents within school policies.
• Provide pastoral care, supervise breaks/lunches, and assist on offsite trips.
• Mentor new staff or work experience students and collaborate with specialists.
• Use ICT tools in learning and complete required training such as Team Teach.
• Ensure student safety during movement around the school.
