Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a unique campus in Cranleigh. This role focuses on supporting learners with diverse needs, with features such as forest schooling, a swimming pool and stables that extend beyond the traditional classroom.

You will lead lessons, assist with planning, promote positive behaviour and track student progress. Applicants must have HLTA status (or be willing to train) and have the right to work in the UK, with access to own transport

Qualifications

• Be qualified with HLTA status or willing to undertake training.
• Ability to interpret information for students with wide abilities.
• Clear written and oral communication, with strong organisational skills.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills in solo or team environments.
• Enthusiastic, committed and empathetic attitude towards learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons and support individuals or groups; provide short-term cover when needed.
• Collaborate on lesson planning and create engaging learning resources.
• Promote positive development, manage behaviour and build student independence.
• Track progress and keep parents updated while following school policies.
• Provide pastoral care, supervise breaks and accompany offsite trips.
• Work with specialists and mentor new staff or work experience students.
• Use ICT tools to support learning and complete required training such as Team Teach.
• Supervise student movement around the school for safety.
