Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants to start in September 2026, to provide short-term daily supply cover in various Primary schools in Birmingham and the surrounding areas (both mainstream and SEN). Many schools also book emergency cover, so if you are looking for just a few days work each week this option is available.

Qualifications

• Essential to have relevant qualifications and experience taking full class groups in either a permanent or supply cover role.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.
• Strong behaviour management skills are a must.
• To be eligible for any teaching job with Prospero Teaching, you must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Possess an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child related references.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term daily supply cover in various Primary schools.
• Discuss with Prospero the type of work you are looking for (day-to-day, short-term, or long-term placements).
• Register and complete safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching.
