We offer a range of teaching and support roles—long-term, short-term, and day-to-day—on both a full-time and part-time basis.

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a welcoming and inclusive primary school in St. Helens. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified HLTA with strong KS1 and KS2 experience, who is passionate about education and ready to take on a more active role in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher

Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, including pupils with additional needs

Assist in the planning and assessment of learning activities in collaboration with the class teacher

Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs

Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment

Support pupils in developing independence and confidence in their learning

Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment

Candidate Requirements:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification (essential)

Proven experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

Previous experience delivering lessons or leading learning activities

Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (desirable)

A calm, flexible, and confident approach

Strong communication and organisational skills

Two professional references relating to recent work with children

A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Right to work in the UK
