Are you ready to take your classroom support career to the next level? A highly regarded special school in the Wembleyarea is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025.

This permanent, full-time position is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, excellent initiative, and a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs. You'll work closely with teachers and support staff to lead small group interventions, cover classes when required, and play a key role in helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead targeted learning interventions and small group sessions
  • Cover lessons when required in the absence of teaching staff
  • Support pupils with SEND across a range of subjects and needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO to track pupil progress
  • Provide feedback to staff and contribute to planning and reviews
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and calm learning environment
  • Assist with EHCP implementation and behaviour support strategies
Qualifications and Experience
  • HLTA status or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in supporting children with SEND
  • Ability to lead sessions and manage groups independently
  • Confident communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working within a special school or SEN setting preferred
  • Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management principles
  • Passion for inclusive, child-centred learning
