Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary School Tower Hamlets Full-Time

Are you an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have the skills to support high-quality teaching and learning across a busy secondary school?

We are a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets, and we are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to play a key role in supporting students and staff across the curriculum.



The Role:

  • Deliver planned learning activities to small groups and individuals, under the guidance of teaching staff

  • Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to students, including those with SEND or additional needs

  • Cover lessons across key stages when required, ensuring continuity of learning

  • Support the planning and assessment process in collaboration with teachers

  • Act as a role model and mentor, promoting positive attitudes and behaviour for learning



What We're Looking For:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience

  • Proven experience working in a secondary school setting

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • A flexible, proactive, and professional attitude

  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting young people from diverse backgrounds
