Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Full-Time
Location: South Leicestershire, near Lutterworth
Contract: Full-time, 19th March 2025 - End of Academic Year (July 2025)
Salary: Paid to Scale (Based on Qualifications and Experience)
Closing Date: Monday, 11th March 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join a small, well-respected primary school near Lutterworth. This full-time role is to support a Year 5/6 class and will start on 19th March 2025, running through to the end of the academic year in July 2025.

The school is part of a highly regarded and supportive trust and has been rated Good by Ofsted. With well-established routines and strong behaviour strategies, this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and collaborative environment.

The Role:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the Year 5/6 class teacher, working with a mixed-age group of pupils.
  • Provide targeted support for children with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Deliver whole-class teaching, small-group work, and 1:1 interventions when required.
  • Cover PPA time across different classes, supporting other teachers in the school.
  • Assist with planning and preparing resources to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Work closely with the SEND team and class teacher to provide tailored support and interventions.
  • Help maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, following well-established behaviour strategies.

About You:
We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has a Level 4 qualification in education.
  • Has experience supporting KS2 classes, particularly Year 5/6.
  • Has previous experience as an HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or teacher in the UK - this is essential.
  • Has experience working with children with SEND, supporting their educational and emotional needs.
  • Is confident delivering whole-class lessons, small-group activities, and interventions.
  • Is organised, proactive, and adaptable, able to hit the ground running in a busy environment.
  • Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with staff and pupils.
